Maria Lewis brings over 12 years of professional experience working in ceramic studios, educational institutions, and artisan workshops. She began her journey at a local pottery collective, where she managed daily kiln operations and learned the fundamentals of bisque and glaze firing. She later joined a regional arts center, overseeing a wide range of kiln types—electric, gas, and wood-fired—while training emerging artists on safe firing practices. Maria has also worked with independent ceramicists across the country, helping refine their firing schedules and troubleshoot technical challenges in high-fire and alternative firing techniques such as raku, pit, and soda firing.
